Mr. Phu has been contracting with the Wayne County Action Program Advantage After School Programs for three and a half years now. The children love learning Fusion Martial Arts. Several of our students from North Rose – Wolcott, Red Creek, Lyons, and Newark sites have received certificates and belts for their achievements. Mr. Phu has invited some of the children to practice with him for tournaments. The children are learning self discipline, self awareness, respect, goal setting, self defense and much needed physical activity. We highly recommend his classes.

Tracy VanVleck

Director, Advantage After School Programs

Dear Mr. Phu,

Thank you SO MUCH for the certificate and belt for Meghan. She has had a hard time finding something that she likes, something that she can be proud of, and something that she enjoys!

As a parent, I am also so very proud of her and will encourage her to continue with the martial arts. It’s funny, she made the comment to me, that you were a little harder on her, than on the rest of the after school children,- but, I know that it was because you saw something special in her and you were just encouraging her to give it her all and her best.

So, for that, I thank you, because she needs that!

Sincerely,
Becky Sawtelle

I known Mr. Phu for over 3 years now. I met  him at the Lyons after school program. He told me about a tournament some time in April of last year and prepared me for that tournament free of charge. My parents and I think that he trained me very well because when I went to the tournament I won first place. Whe he teaches he is strict but very caring. He does have rules that you need to follow. He has these rules for the safety of all students. He trains people not to be up other people but to know how to protect yourself in dangerous situations. I would recommend him as an martial arts instructor.

Sincerely,
Brianna Williams – Grade 7
(Brianna is holding a 1st place trophy – Beginner Girls Division from the 6th Annual Sensei Jim Grafe Memorial Karate Tournament She is currently an Orange Belt 1 Stripe in Fusion Genesis Karate )

Sensei Phu has successfully taught martial arts and many other enrichment workshop for the LEAP (Lyons Enrichment After school Program) and summer program at the Lyons Central School District for the last four years.

In working with Mr. Phu over the past fours years, I have found him to be very personable and accommodating to the needs of the students. I have witnessed this as the Program Director and as a student. He tailored his workshop to meet the needs of the beginner and the advanced students. He also made the class relevant to the students. He accomplished this by showing them how to utilize the skills they learned as a self defense technique and a way to keep fit. The superior level of his personal knowledge and professional experience also allowed the middle school participants, in the two hours a week workshop, to advance in rank and able to participate in competitions. In the last to years, Mong trained and entered two of the LEAP students into a Karate tournament. They did very well. One of the students won first place in her age group and the other placed third.

In saying all this, I am please to highly recommend Mong Phu. He is very accommodating and personable and always gives one hundred percent as an instructor.
