On Monday we started off with conditioning which included shadow boxing, push-ups, sit-outs, and a couple different Budokon exercises. We practiced knees, punches, and kicks on the Thai pads and combined these attacks to create some pretty awesome combos.
What I liked the most was the type of sparring that we did at the end of class. We started out boxing and when Mong said engage, my partner and me clinched each other and practiced technique from the inside.
On Wednesday we did some more Muay Thai and Boxing. We learned how to properly execute a shovel hook to the ribs. We also learned how to block a cross and counter with a grab move that kind of looked like the Russian 2 on 1 but different. Then at the end you can either knee the person or continue with different moves. We also did more pad work and learn more variations of different self defense moves. We ended the night with grappling.
Hope everyone had a happy 4th of July and I’ll see you next week.
