Today I had a chance to attend a Judo clinic with Sensei Nageyasu Ogasawara.

Sensei Nageyasu Ogasawara holds an 8th Dan in Judo. He authored the definitive text on Judo, The Textbook of Judo. From 1984 to 1989, he was an associate professor at the United States branch of Kokushikan University. For 7 years, 1988 – 1995, he was the head coach for the west point military Academy Judo team. In addition, Sensei Ogasawara received the coach of the year award from the US Olympic Committee and Metropolitan Judo Association in 1991. Two of his students, including his daughter Liliko, made the US Olymic Judo Team. Sensei Ogasawara is also chief Judo instructor at NEMA Dojo in Rochester, New York.

Today we learn 2 escapes from Kesa gatame, 2 variant attacks from Kouchi Gari and a follow up from Kouchi Gari into Osoto Gaki.

There was plenty of health snack and refreshment for all the Judoka during and after training.
